About Me

I am a wife and mother of two almost grown children.  For the past 21 years, I have pretty much just been a stay-at-home mom.  Now that my kids are old enough to fend for themselves, I’m thinking about what I want to be when I grow up.  This is difficult for me, since it has recently been pointed out that I’m not a risk-taker.  I hate to admit it, but it’s true.  Stepping out of my comfort zone is a very scary thing, but the time has come to take the leap.

When I was young, I wanted to be a Park Ranger.  I still do.   I know that my age and abilities will probably prevent that from happening, but I am still hoping for something related to that.  I have always been interested in gardening and basically anything that has to do with being outside.  I love getting my hands dirty and am not afraid of hard physical labor.  Working in a greenhouse or nursery would be wonderful, but since I have no formal training,  I’m planning to go back to school and get a degree in Horticultural Landscaping.  With this leap into something new, I’m looking for support and encouragement from my family and friends.  Wish me luck!

Great synopsis, though you forgot things like “totally fun” and “hilarious sense of Southern humor”. I would wish you luck, but I really don’t think you’ll need it – I bet you ace every class. I’m looking forward to seeing where your path leads. =)
